Waterloo Black Hawks staff and players will attend the Cedar Falls Downtown District Street Party this Saturday, August 29th.

As the team assembles this week in preparation for the United States Hockey League preseason, the Downtown District Street Party will be the first community event for many players.  They will be on hand from 6 to 8 p.m.  Meanwhile, team staff will be at the event between 4 and 8 p.m.

"We're less than three weeks from the first preseason game at Young Arena, and this is an opportunity for us to introduce the newest Black Hawks to the Cedar Valley," said Team President Joe Greene.  "The forecast looks great for a Saturday evening outdoors, so I know we'll see a lot of Black Hawks fans."

The Downtown District Street Party is in its fourth year.  Local bars and restaurants will be open for business, and many retailers will set up outside their regular locations, holding sales or offering special items. Activities include volleyball, pickleball, miniature golf, a silent disco, live music, and more.  The event is free and open to everyone.  The Downtown District Street Party is presented by Cedar Falls Community Main Street.

In addition to the appearance by Black Hawks players, the team will bring a prize wheel and a variety of giveaway items fans can win while supplies last.

Tickets for all Black Hawks home games go on sale Tuesday, August 25th at noon by calling the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680 or online through tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com.  Waterloo's first preseason game is against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Wednesday, September 9th at 4:05 p.m.  The regular season home schedule begins against the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Friday, October 2nd at 6:35 p.m.
