Simple Mission, Profound Impact

Each Home Goal Benefits Folds of Honor

Fahr Beverage has already earmarked $225 for Folds of Honor; the Waterloo Black Hawks will strive to build that donation dramatically by the end of the 2026/27 hockey season.

Once again this winter, Fahr Beverage is partnering with the Black Hawks to raise money and awareness for the Folds of Honor program, which provides life-changing educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America's fallen or disabled military service members and first responders.  For each Waterloo home goal at Young Arena, the donation goes up by $25.

"It's easy to cheer for a big goal during an exciting game; I hope our fans will cheer again each time they see that Folds of Honor number get bigger on the scoreboard," said Black Hawks President and COO Joe Greene.  "When it comes to saluting the families of those who have given everything, we're all on the same team, and I would like to recognize Fahr Beverage for their long-term partnership on this effort."

Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 73,000 scholarships.  The educational assistance helps provide for the unmet needs of students like tuition, housing, meal plans, and required textbooks that are not covered by other sources of awards or financial aid.  More than 90 percent of funds received by Folds of Honor are dispersed as scholarships, and the organization has a four-star rating from Charity Navigator.  To learn more about Folds of Honor, visit foldsofhonor.org.

Fahr Beverage distributes a range of domestic, import, craft and specialty beers, along with several non-alcoholic brands in the Cedar Valley.  The company's local roots date back nearly 70 years to 1958.  Folds of Honor is one of more than two dozen charitable and community causes which Fahr Beverage and its employees support each year.  Get more details from fahrbeverage.com.

Through two games at Young Arena, the Black Hawks have already scored nine total goals, skating away with 6-3 and 3-2 wins over the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Madison Capitols respectively.

The next game at Young Arena is against the Des Moines Buccaneers at 6:35 this Saturday.  While supplies last, fans aged 21 and over are invited to enjoy $5 Hawktoberfest Marzen Lager from Backpocket Brewing.  The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Black Hawks magnetic schedule from Tyson Fresh Meats.  For seats, call the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680 or visit tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com.
