Each Monday, the Waterloo Black Hawks staff recognizes players as the team's Offensive Player of the Week and the Hardest Worker of the Week.
Christie Door Company Offensive Player of the Week: Dylan Nolan
For the second consecutive game, Nolan turned in a crucial multigoal performance. Facing Madison last Saturday, he tallied the game's first goal during a power play, then notched the overtime winner, sending the game to a 3-2 final. Nolan has five total goals this season.
The weekly offensive honor is presented by Christie Door Company. With roots in the Cedar Valley which stretch back into the 1950s, Christie Door Company offers the largest selection of quality door options at prices to meet their customers' budget. UAW Local 838 Hardest Worker: Cody Sokol
In the second period Saturday, Sokol set up Colin Dustin's power play goal, which helped the Hawks establish a 2-0 lead. Then in overtime, Sokol won a 50-50 puck off a rebound, creating the sequence that led to Dylan Nolan's decisive goal. Sokol would have had a third assist on a disallowed Waterloo goal.
Hardest Worker recognition is presented by UAW Local 838. The United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America. Their message: American jobs are worth fighting for.
