Fans have been collecting autographs from their favorite celebrities for well over a century.

Did you know, baseball star Shoeless Joe Jackson took home baseballs his fans asked him to sign?  His wife would put his name on them, because Jackson was nearly illiterate.

Heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali was reportedly disappointed as a child when his boxing hero, Sugar Ray Robinson, would not sign an autograph.  As a result, Ali almost always gave autographs when asked.

And the Captain of the Titanic accepted his post in order to get former President Theodore Roosevelt's autograph during an event in New York when the ship landed.  Edward Smith's autograph collection washed up on shore in an airtight container along with the ship's log, weeks after the ocean liner hit an iceberg.

The point is, you don't have to go to great lengths to get autographs from your favorite Black Hawk players.  Just come to Young Arena for Saturday night games.

Every home Saturday during the season is a Signature Saturday.  Throughout the season, each Waterloo player will participate at least once.  After the game is over, make your way toward Party Town Outfitters in Young Arena's northeast corner.  Typically two players per night will be there to greet you.

And Signature Saturdays are a great opportunity to get photos, as well as insights about the game.  The autographs are free, and the memories can help to make your trip to the rink a little more special.
