Black Hawks Players of the Week - 9/22

Each Monday, the Waterloo Black Hawks staff recognizes players as the team's Offensive Player of the Week and the Hardest Worker of the Week.

The weekly offensive honor is presented by Christie Door Company.  With roots in the Cedar Valley which stretch back into the 1950s, Christie Door Company offers the largest selection of quality door options at prices to meet their customers' budget.  Their motto is: Our Name Stands for Quality, Value is our Tradition!

Christie Door Company Offensive Player of the Week: Viktor Eriksson

During last Thursday's game against Dubuque, goals by Eriksson kept the Black Hawks close.  He scored in the second period, then again late in the third, making him the first Waterloo player with a multigoal game this season.  Eriksson was also one of three Hawks to convert a shootout attempt in last Wednesday's game versus Muskegon.

Hardest Worker recognition is presented by UAW Local 838.  The United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America.  Their message: American jobs are worth fighting for.

UAW Local 838 Hardest Worker: Phileas Lachat
Lachat was credited with 27 saves on 30 shots as the Black Hawks and Muskegon Lumberjacks went to overtime during the season opener.  Lachat's effort helped the Hawks secure their first standings point of the season.  He stopped eight Lumberjacks shootout attempts, giving Waterloo seven opportunities to claim the win with subsequent attempts.
