Each Monday, the Waterloo Black Hawks staff recognizes players as the team's Offensive Player of the Week and the Hardest Worker of the Week.
Christie Door Company Offensive Player of the Week: Avery Laliberte
The defenseman helped the Black Hawks create offense during games on Saturday and Sunday. A shot block in Cedar Rapids was recognized with an assist when Waterloo went on to quickly record a shorthanded goal. Then Sunday in Sioux City, Laliberte scored a game-tying goal in the third period. He was a team-best +2.
The weekly offensive honor is presented by Christie Door Company. With roots in the Cedar Valley which stretch back into the 1950s, Christie Door Company offers the largest selection of quality door options at prices to meet their customers' budget. Their motto is: Our Name Stands for Quality, Value is our Tradition!
UAW Local 838 Hardest Worker: Salvatore Viviano
It was a physically rigorous weekend for the Hawks, but more so for Salvatore Viviano than any other skater. Including his participation in USA Hockey's All-American Game on January 15th, Viviano played in four games across four consecutive days. He recorded his 30th point of the season with a shorthanded goal Saturday.
Hardest Worker recognition is presented by UAW Local 838. The United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America. Their message: American jobs are worth fighting for.
