There will be giveaways, special guests, unique game jerseys, and more at Young Arena during the Waterloo Black Hawks' 2022/23 schedule, and specific details were provided Tuesday with the announcement of the team's promotional calendar.
 
The home slate begins on Saturday, October 8th with a 6:05 p.m. matchup against the Tri-City Storm.  Fans in attendance will receive a schedule poster, presented by Karen's Print Rite.  Opening night will also be the first of this season's Signature Saturdays; after the game, fans will have the chance to meet select Black Hawks players for autographs on the Young Arena concourse.  Other recurring promotions to watch for throughout the season include Domino's Family Four Pack games and College Nights presented by the United States Air Force.  There will also be drink special for those aged 21 and over during every game on the schedule.
 
"We look forward to a variety of both new and familiar promotions this year," said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene. "I would like to thank all of our partners who are either supporting special events, ticket offers, or giveaways.  I believe we have more giveaways than any time in recent memory." 

Free items to be handed out include Black Hawks youth hockey jerseys presented by SCHEELS and Christie Door Company October 14th, scarves from U.S. Bank on December 9th, jersey cups on December 28th, dog bandanas February 25th, as well as special items from Maple Lanes (December 31st), Kwik Star (April 8th), Next Generation Wireless (April 22nd), and more.

The team will wear five specialty jerseys in 2022/23.  The first of them is scheduled for Saturday, November 5th during a game against the Sioux Falls Stampede on "Hockey Fights Cancer Assist Night" presented by Mike Molstead Motors.  In December, Waterloo will take the ice in college colors to be chosen by the fans later this fall.  The team will salute veterans and active-duty service personnel on January 14th, sponsored by American Pattern & CNC Works.  "A Weekend with the Black Hawks" presented by John Deere and featuring green and gold is slated for February 3rd and 4th.  The final special sweater will be March 11th; jerseys celebrating the Cedar Valley and benefitting Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity will be in focus as Waterloo hosts the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

Other dates of special interest include a visit by Chicago Cubs mascot, Clark, on December 2nd, UNI Panther Pride Night on March 25th, and Black Hawks Alumni Night on April 15th.

Single-game tickets, season tickets, and seven-game packages for 2022/23 are all on sale currently from tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com.  Ahead of the regular season, the Hawks also play preseason home games on Wednesday, September 14th (Cedar Rapids) and Saturday, September 17th (Des Moines).
