All members of the Waterloo Black Hawks hockey team live with a family in the community. The Black Hawks organization prides itself on finding quality, caring families for our players who can offer support as many leave their own homes for the first time. Players oftentimes become “part of the family” and maintain relationships with their billet family years after they have completed their Black Hawk playing careers. There is no housing fee for members of the Waterloo Black Hawks. Living with a host family during your time in Waterloo provides for a stable foundation during these ever-important years in a player’s life. Host families provide a comfortable bridge into being self-sufficient in post-USHL life. During the time a player is not with the team, a host family provides a means for getting away from the game for a while. Housing and meals are paid for by the Black Hawks organization. Our host families are excited to meet you and can’t wait to cheer you on at Young Arena!
